What you can do daily?

    1. Listen to the hearing aid

Be sure that the sound that can hear from your hearing aid is clear and loud enough. If you are hearing any unwanted sounds(noise) report it to the audiologist on your next visit.
keep your volume control in the same level/value as set by the audiologist.

     2. Check batteries

Hearing aid doesn't have an ON/OFF button. When the battery compartment is closed with a working condition battery,it means its ON.
You can check whether your hearing aid is working or not by closing the hearing aid by your palm.if you can hear a squealing sound then it's working.
Battery should last about 1-2 weeks.Hearing aids are working at peak performance when the batteries are at full strength.
Store those batteries in a dry place when you are not using it.
Nowadays most of the hearing aids have zinc-air batteries,Thus the movement you remove the sticker on it the battery have tendency to drain.

Also be careful when you insert the batteries,Hearing aid manufactures mark " + " sign on one side of the battery door to remind you that positive side of the battery must be on that side.
Even though you might insert the batteries in backwards,It would not be a problem now because most of the haring aid won't allow to close battery door if its backwards.

   3. Clean the hearing aid

Check for dirt and grime in the hearing aid and wipe it using soft dry cloth.
Remove the ear molds from hearing aid and clean with mild soap solution and dry them carefully using a forced air blower make sure it's dry before reattaching the hearing aid.

Remove wax at the end of the day which is at the ear tips or ear mold, vents using wax loops is need to be done.
Ear wax blockage is a leading cause for hearing aid failure.if you have ear wax it should be removed by a professional.

   4. Store the hearing aid in the dry box when its not using

This is important for the function of hearing aid also,It will minimize moisture in the hearing aid.
While you sleeping/bathing remember to remove your hearing aid and the battery in it and keep those in the drying container.
